The Seven Stars

The Seven Stars (249 Newmarket Road) is one of Cambridge’s oldest pubs and is also an Indian Restaurant. This Grade II listed building was originally constructed during the early 19th century. In 2019, we gave it a complete renovation to give it a fresh, modern look.

In addition to a wide selection of drinks including lagers, wines and champagne, we also serve a wide selection of Indian dishes from our modernised kitchen. Indian food has a history of more than 5000 years, with influences from various groups and cultures – including Mughals, British and Portuguese empires. Our Head Chef is Kathirvelan, who is internationally recognized as one of the most distinguished representatives of Indian cuisine.

We invite the most discerning palates to savour traditional Indian cuisine from our exquisite seasonally changed menu. We also offer an exceptionally large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes with hundreds of Indian spices like turmeric, ginger, black mustard, cardamom, cumin, saffron, curry, cloves, cinnamon and mint; you will be whisked away to the magical world of Indian spices. Moreover, The Seven Stars recreates the charm of the traditional clay oven or tandoor with its delicious menu of succulent tandoor-cooked kebabs, vegetables and breads. A fine dining gastropub that serves Indian cuisine in Cambridge.

We look forward to welcoming you!
